Sarpagandha or Chanderbhanga (Indian snakeroot) is a herbal medicine that has been used in Ayurveda since time immortal. The herb has been well accepted world-wide for its anti-hypertensive properties. Studies have shown that ‘Sarpagandha’ helps in combating feeling of anxiety due to stress, restlessness, tension or nervousness. The formulation contains Vijaya or Bhanga which is being used in close to 200 Ayurvedic formulation and has a direct action on ‘Manovah Srotas’, thereby controlling many of the ailments of psychosomatic origin.

Side effects and Contradictions
Usually safe for all but in some cases, it can cause dryness of mouth, so the physician must advise medicine/remedies to counter the same. In very high dosages can bring sedation, increased heart beat and nausea.
